About Me
I am a Clinical Psychologist in Private Practice in Rockville, Maryland, where I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. I am also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Georgetown University Medical Center, where I provide supervision to and teach Psychiatry Residents.
I previously worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families at Alvord Baker & Associates, a group practice in Rockville, MD. Prior to this, I was the team Psychologist at a pediatric and adolescent clinic at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.
I have been licensed since 2008 and hold licenses to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia, New York, and am a member of PsyPact, which allows me to provide Telehealth (virtual sessions) across 42 States.
While originally from New York, I have lived in the Metro DC area most of my life, and am thus very familiar with the local neighborhoods, schools, and pressures that can come with living here. I currently live in Maryland with my wife, three children, and two rescue dogs. When not working I am spending time with my family, cheering for the Ravens, busy with DIY projects around the house, and am an avid runner.
Education & Training
I earned my Doctoral (Ph.D.) and Master's Degrees in Clinical Psychology at The George Washington University. After this, I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, before working at Downstate Medical Center as a Child and Adolescent Psychologist. I received my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Rochester with Honors in Psychology and a Minor in Philosophy.
My training and education is rooted in evidence-based treatments.

Prior to meeting I will speak with caregivers on the phone to learn about the referral reason. I will then typically schedule a caregiver meeting where we discuss therapy goals, prior treatment, academic and social-emotional history. This meeting allows caregivers time to get to know me as well. The caregiver and child will generally come in for the next appointment, followed by a couple of individual meetings with the child. At this point we may reconvene so that I can provide initial feedback, discuss treatment, and answer your questions. I am available to speak with caregivers at any point in the process.
What To Expect
-
Prior to our first meeting I will speak with the Emerging Adult and/or referring individual on the phone and will then send a link for paperwork completion and document upload via the Client Portal. Emerging Adults (ages 18-30) can come to their initial meeting alone or are welcome to bring a caregiver/family member who may be supporting them. While the Emerging Adult is the client, parent and family involvement can be important and we will discuss what role the family can have in their therapy.
-
I work with families to help them improve communication and support one another’s needs. Sometimes families will be seen all together, and sometimes we will meet in separate groups, depending on the therapy goals. Family members may also be invited to an appointment(s) for an individual client to better support their treatment.
-
I typically speak on the phone with a prospective client prior to setting up an initial consultation to discuss your needs and my approach. We then typically schedule a 60-minute consultation meeting to further discuss your goals and relevant history. We will discuss at this meeting the subsequent frequency of sessions.
